My Career Path And Career Essay - 1228 Words
O*Net Interest Profiler The question ââ¬Å"What do you want to be when you grow up?â⬠meant so many things throughout middle childhood, adolescence, and was even relevant in adulthood. My interests varied from law, to education, and even construction for a period. It took most of my lifetime and lived experiences, up until very recently, to actually figure out, make a decision, and follow through, with my true occupational goals. This paper will examine my current career path and goals. It will investigate the results of the O*Net Interest Profiler in which I participated, and how they compare to my current occupational goals. Finally, it will discuss gained insights and further resources for future career exploration. Current Career Path and Career Choice I have always known that I wanted to work with people. The ability to communicate and reach people on different levels is a skill that I donââ¬â¢t believe can be taught ââ¬â one simply has it or they do not. There certainly are educational models that can help develop these skills, along with diverse life experiences that can integrate and incorporate learned traits; however, if one does not possess comfortability with people, and is not equipped with particular skill sets that are natural, a career working with people may not be the best choice. Any career that I had been interested in involved helping.
